Saturday’s Tasting: Holiday Food Pairings

December 9, 2009

This Saturday will be our annual Holiday Party tasting.  Join us for this delicious, fun and free event from 2-10pm Saturday.

Similar to our Thanksgiving event, we will have tasting stations set up around the store, each one featuring a traditional holiday dessert with drinks (beers, wines, cocktails, liqueurs, etc) that match it perfectly. You can taste anything that sounds good, all while you do some leisurely browsing for holiday gift ideas too.

This is a great opportunity to make your holidays easier and tastier. You can pre-order any of the desserts for pickup at the store on a set day, plus we can have your drinks ready to go too. Whether for your own event with family and friends, a work function, or whatever reason, this is the easy way to do it. All of the dessert items are made from scratch by Sally’s Kitchen and if you’ve been to one of these tastings before you know that every single dish they make is ridiculously delicious.

Here is the tasting menu:

  • Bourbon Bread Pudding, paired with Samuel Smith’s Winter Welcome holiday ale.
  • Mexican Wedding Cakes and Assorted Holiday Cookies, paired with Horchata Mexican cinnamon cream liqueur.
  • White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, paired with a Kir Royale (Korbel Brut champagne with a splash of Chambord liqueur)
  • Black Forest Cake Roll, paired with Layer Cake Primitivo (a red zinfandel from Italy)
  • Tiramisu Cheesecake, paired with either Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout or a Seattle Car Bomb (Guinness with a shot of Starbucks coffee liqueur).

Looking forward to seeing you Saturday.

PS: Send this on to your friends and neighbors and invite them too!
